Chris Chambers, Commercial Training Manager for Leaderflush Shapland, completed the London Marathon on the 25th April with a credible time of 5 hours and 23 minutes. Sharing Leaderflush Shapland’s passion for the community, Chris participated in the race to raise funds for the charity P3. P3 is a social inclusion charity that aims to give people the practical skills and self esteem that they need to sustain an independent and self sufficient lifestyle by providing opportunities and support that help vulnerable people move on from social exclusion to inclusion and was recently ranked number 1 in the Sunday Times 100 best companies to work for in the UK 2010.
Previously only being involved in cycling events which included the Great Nottingham bike ride, the London to Paris bike ride as well as the Sherwood Pines and the White Peak bike rides, the London Marathon was Chris’ first major running event. Chris Chambers has further fundraising plans for 2010 which includes the British Heart Foundation White Peak bike ride challenge in Derbyshire (40 miles), the Great North bike ride (75 miles) and the Robin Hood half marathon (13 miles).
